Zombie Space Unicorn: Chapter Five
Nov. 4th, 2012 01:26 amWe didn't hear from Dorian again for a really long time. Clocks appeared to work screwy on the space ship. Our mobiles all showed different times adn when some of them started counting backwards we gave up on the idea that we could track howlong we had been there. What was obvious was that getting home was going to take a lot longer than the trip out.
Oddly enough we all accepted on faith that Dorian was in teh ship somewhere looking out for us. At some point after we talked to him an opening appeareed suddenly in one of the walls into a room where we found food we could eat. It wasn't anything we recognized but it smelled good and after a few experiments we decided we could eat it witout bad effects. There were also curved blocks made of some spongey substance that were more comfortable than the floor. So we ended up spending most of our time there. The opening stayed in the wall and eventually we developed the confidence that it wasn't going to suddenly disappear on us and started living in both rooms. I examined hte opening out of curiosity. It had the same texture as the rest of the walls and the edges felt smooth like it had been melted.
We had nothing to do but talk to each other and so I ended up becoming very close with my odd collectin of neighbours. We talked about partners and lovers and friends waiting for us back on Earth. None of us ever mentioned being afraid that we wouldnt make it back. All of us thought abouyt it.
Once in while we saw one of the aliens walk through. At this point we paid barely more attention them than they did to us. Our primary relationship was now with the ship.
We're getting kicked out so I have to log off. The down side of doing this in a pub.
