The really odd thing about living in the online age is running into people I know (or who I know about) in forums where I don't expect to. I'm always find out new stuff about people.

Mind you I once went to a Genitorturers show and ran into about 20 people who promptly asked me not to mention to anyone else that I had seen them there, so maybe this isn't just an internet thing.
