It's cold outside, just enough to sting bare skin. This morning when I was walking paintward the sky was doing it's best to drop snow on my head and the wind was whipping the trees into a frenzy.
I fucking love this weather.
When I used to work at the farm I would walk into the office on mornings like these and bellow to anybody in the room, "Isn't this a great day to be alive!" They would always look at me like I was from Mars.
(This is the same group of people who would come into the lunch room on every single hot sunny day for the entire ten years I worked there and ask me, "Why aren't you eating outside? It's beautiful out?" Every. Single. Day.)
I had a conversation with a friend once where she asserted that everybody, no matter how "gothic" they are, has to spend a certain amount of time in the sun to be healthy. I told her, no way. I don't need sun. I need wind.

You're not from Mars. Probably somewhere near Naunton. Or Upper Slaughter.
