Freaky Fountain Press was a project of love and lust co-created by a friend. I went to a reading she gave at Good For Her a local toy store when the first books were released. She chose to read "Love Letters" by SL Johnson from the Bad Romance anthology and it was hilarious. I bought all of the books.
I re-read all these recently because I figure I could learn a lot from these authors on the subject of writing about sex. Most porn is terrible. Bad writing, bad characterization, no plot. I mean none of those things is really the point, right? Freaky Fountain Press was an attempt to create porn that was a) really well written and b) really really weird. In my opinion they succeeded at both.

This Is The Way The World Ends: an anthology of apocalyptic erotica edited by Catherine Leary A collection of stories about the end of the world. Alien invasions, climate collapse, and a vampire outbreak. This one was by far my favourite just because I so love a good end-of-the-world story. |

Bad Romance: an anthology of dysfunctional desire edited by Robin Wolfe Pretty much what it says on the tin. Sadists, addicts and other attractive people. |

Erotica Apocrypha: interpretations of myth and the divine edited by Catherine Leary and Robin Wolfe Stories for people who were brought up religous and just for people who think myths and legends are really cool. |

The Aquarians by Gigi Brevard Girl who is employed by a cruise liner that has a dolphin show as part of the onboard entertainment hooks up with a group of "scientists" who come on board to study the dolphins that are a part of the act. Bonking ensues. This is the only full book the press put out. The author wrote one of my favourite stories in This Is The Way The World Ends but this one doesn't do as much for me. Possibly because I lack the dolphin fixation that so many people have. |

Date: 2017-11-29 07:25 am (UTC)But now I think on it, the fact there's not a film called "The Road: An XXX Parody" also seems odd to me.
But this is our reality now.
And, in a world where apparently the Gay Justice League porn parody is a better film than the actual JLA film (which contains... I watched the first three minutes, and it contains a parody of film-making).
Possibly because I lack the dolphin fixation that so many people have.
You have no soul! Seeing dolphins swimming about was amazing.
Discovering that Dolphinsex FAQ on the internet: less so.
