I developed an utterly blinding migraine on Sunday night which didn't break until mid-afternoon yesterday. That may be the longest I've ever had one last. And I mean quite literally on the blinding, I get trails and auras that increase until finally the optic nerve on that side just craps out entirely.

The conflicting pressure fronts have been rolling through like they're getting paid for it, so I suspect that has something to do with it. I've also been exceptionally dizzy lately.

I decided a couple of weeks ago that it was time to crawl out of the bottle. I'm not going on the wagon, I'm still going to drink socially (and NaDruWriNi is coming up) but I'm making a point of not immediately pouring myself a drink or ten the second I walk in the door after work. So far it's been... OK. Only I'm aware of feelings again and that's obviously not acceptable. Not sure what to do about that part. So far I've been getting through the work day by putting on headphones and working my way through every album on Bandcamp with 'punk' in the tags. It's sorta working.

I have plans for some vacation time in November and I'm really looking forward to it. I am weary down to my very bones.

I identify with a lot of this entry. Even the pain part - I don't have migraines but I've had a pretty much constant headache since coming home from Indiana last week, plus I missed a dose of gabapentin so my nerve pain is acting up.

I'm not ready to give up the evening drinks yet though.

Good question. My tolerance is also higher than I'd like.

what do you take for your migraines? I also get the auras although they *start* blinding. My first symptom is usually that there's some letters in whatever I'm reading that I just can't see, and then the blind spots turn into flashy lights. It doesn't ever go completely black though, but it's not great when I'm, say, driving. Luckily I only get about one a year. On the other hand I don't have a prescription for anything so I usually just take a cocktail of magnesium, caffeine, and ibuprofen, and try to go to bed.

Good luck with the feelings. <3

That sounds *awful*. I'm so sorry that you had to suffer through that, and chronic migraines too. I had a bought of something similar in 2009-2010, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. :(
