war and peace

the_siobhanI haven't participated in the peace meme until know, because I think such things tends to be... simplistic. Too many people see such things as a substitute for action in meatspace.
I am not a pacifist. I will fight for what I believe in. I will fight to defend myself and those I care about.
But this war is retarded. It goes against the better judgement of the UN, the American people and the rest of the world. Waged by a man who wasn't even elected to the position he holds in order to distract the public from the complete balls-up he has made of his job.

So goddamn it. I wish for peace.
And I am going to contact my MP today and tell him that I am proud of my government for not getting dragged into this dick-waving contest.

Embarrassingly, I have no clue how my MP stood on the issue though...better go check that out.
