Write Every Day: Day 9

Today was my monthly day for going into the office. It annoys the hell out of me that I have to do this. I am so much less productive, I spend almost two hours commuting, and I am guaranteed to be the only person in the building wearing a mask. By the time I've had my mask on for eight hours I'm ready to slap somebody because it's just so unnecessary.

And I have no idea what I'm going to do for lunches once it gets too cold to eat on the lawn.

However, the good news is that while I was sitting on the lawn I wrote about 400 words. Not bad at all.

According to management, it is very important that we come into the office for the furthering of collaboration and team building. So I did that, on Teams, with my co-workers in Montreal and Vancouver.

Aug 9: Continuing my attempt to make the words sexy!

Day 9: an even 400 words on WIP 1, 911 words on WIP 2, and got bored and started a new WIP 3 that I wrote 1,703 words on instead of, like, making dinner or going to bed on time, lol. It was a slow WFH day.

Oh dear, sympathy for that office day, that sounds horrible! Glad you got some words written in spite of it.

Day 9: 500 words, and I've finished a first draft at 2,200 words. The ending is a bit dubious at the moment, but I have the words written and can improve them in the next draft!

No, it's not a secret—it's for The Wounded Name, which I re-read last week and have had something of a change of heart about. More thoughts to follow, possibly, besides of course the fic itself. :)

Hmm. It strikes me now that I did not research whether any of the names had Breton pronunciations that are distinct from how you'd say them in French! I just said all the French names with French pronunciation...
