C9, Carhenge, Cadillac Ranch, The Grand Canyon, The Petrified Forest, The Painted Desert, the home of the 72-ounce steak, the biggest cross in North America, Hunter S Thompson's ranch, a house inside a cliff, a haunted hotel room, mountains, deserts, cows, ravens, a missle silo complete with Titan II missle, Jessie Jame's hideout, a 29-hour drive straight through from Nebraska, two speeding tickets, one kidnapping and a day-trip back to Sarnia to retreive a misplaced knapsack later -- and I'm home.

Rock.

Next week: pictures.

Heh. Actually it was on Anmar's (Tranquility on a.p) ranch, and he's only just started constructing it. It's going to be extrememly cool once he's done it though.

Ah good, you're back. These people are giving away free airline tickets to toronto (200 from NY for each of the three weekends they're doing it, others from ottawa and montreal) and I was thinking of making a try for one for weekend after next (the 16th or whatever; reservations open the day beforehand) since I just got back from everyone telling me how lovely Toronto is, but I wanted to make sure there would be someone there up for me crashing on their couch. Thoughts?

Come visit! I'm crashing at [livejournal.com profile] the_axel's/[livejournal.com profile] zero_gravity's place myself at the moment, but we can find you a free couch to crash on. You would be very welcome to come and visit.

I tell ya - the biggest cross in North America is a spooky sight at 3 a.m. when all you've driven through in the last six hours is pitch darkness and swarms of cicadas, eh? :)

More details! Someday I want to see Carhenge!
WE tried to goto the home of the 72-ounce steak but they didn't have any parking by windows so we could keep an eye on the dog so we ate at Denny's intead.
There is a second version of that cross in Effingham IL now - they saw the one in Groom, TX and decided to put one up also
