to do list - November edition

Find work clothes that fit me. I have to do this tonight, because tomorrow is our monthly in-office day and I just found out today that we aren't allowed to wear jeans. [insert annoyed emoting here]

Look at hospital beds for the Old Man. I really need to get on top of this. The problem is that there are just many options it's totally overwhelming, so I need to find time to do some research into what would work best for him.

Patch the front steps before the frost starts. This will require cleaning all the leaves off them, so I'll get the housemate to do that. I'll also give them the job of getting somebody to clear off the eaves-troughs. I'll try to get to that this coming weekend.

At some point soon we need to shop for kitchen cupboards & appliances so we know what we want when the building finally gets to that stage. Make a date with housemate to get that sorted.

I have a suggestion for a place to get Old Man some dental care, I need to call and see if I can get an appointment sorted.

I know there's more I'm forgetting.

I was having a wee rant at a friend about how I just want somebody I can give tasks to and then not think about them because I know they'll get fucking done. Case in point, the housemate made an appointment to get our furnace cleaned today and then didn't bother to be here for it. So I woke up to a bunch of messages about it this morning and apparently it's up to me to sort out an alternative appointment.

It's a minor thing, but it's Every Single Fucking Thing, and it's fucking exhausting.

I can't help with the other things much, but back in the Olden Days (before I even knew you) I used to clean an assisted living centre, which was attached to a hospital. I assume if there's something like that near you you know about it?

Housemate is the ex-husband. We are not currently in the financial position to move, so we're seeing if co-housing will work. Some days it works better than others.

I did wonder.
It's a hard needle to thread, for sure.
But attending to basic stuff should be a basic adult skill.

(That said, the older I get, some basic things do seem to be getting harder, so... )
