Welcome to Write Every Day, June edition.

I tend to do my writing at end of day, so I'm usually adding my updates for the day prior. However you do it is fine, but please post your comment to the most recent entry and add the date so it's easier for my date-adverse brain to keep organized.

Feel free to talk about your goals for this month. I have a couple of short stories in progress, and if I can I would like to get at least one of them finished.

Hello! :D

I'm just starting the next chapter of my longfic, so I think my goal for the month will be to finish this chapter. Also possibly something on raremaleslashex, but we'll see.

Day 1: My brain is not working today, but I wrote about 200 doubtful words which are now there for reworking later.

June goals: as usual, write every day. I'm still finalizing plans for challenges/exchanges, but gosh, it'd be nice to publish something OR make progress on my sixty-word stories -- but I'll have to see how all my time commitments shake out.

Well done on your writing! I may have mentioned this before but for some reason I find that longhand can be easier when I'm trying to get past writer's block - it's like it taps into a different part of my brain or something. I should do it more often.

Yes, longhand is my (not so) secret writer's block trick, too! For me, it more focuses my mind: there I am with my notebook, no internet, no ability to edit, and no distractions but what I can see out the window. And so my choices are to look out the window or work out what happens next in the story -- and shocker of shockers, I often work out what comes next while looking out the window!

Also, I just like my handwriting. I enjoy the physical sensation of laying the words down and looking at them, when I'm writing longhand. :-D

On Day 1, I added 453 words to Chapter 15. I'm hoping to finish the first draft of this novel by the end of the month, so that's my goal. I estimate (I'm terrible at this) that I have about 15-20K more words to go, and since tomorrow is my last day before summer break, I think I have the time, particularly if I up my personal daily quota to 1000 words or so. We'll see.

Nice. Good luck on getting your draft finished, that sound entirely doable. (Isn't the Nanowrimo goal about 50 K words?)

Not knitting at present, the current project is to make many, many little bouncy spiders for Halloween (I need to re-stock because I only have a few left). I have lots of bodies cut out, and I'm currently at the leg making stage, so I'm making a lot of twisted cords, 4 per spider as each one is a pair of legs. I've made 24 sets today, hoping to make some more later this evening. Once I have all the legs made, I have to start hand-sewing... Hope I can remember how!

Creeping back into writing for the first time in a while, using the Couch to 80K method of starting with 10 minutes of work a day to see if I can keep at least that habit up. Jotted down about a page of motivation notes for one character.

1 June -- Wrote an important (though fortunately not fraught) letter, and several comments & replies. Noted down a possible opening line for a fic.

Day 1: 121 words on a drawer fic project I'm using to train myself to write something of a larger novel-like scale, doing this by weaving several connected but so far separate stories together as multiple storylines in one work. I should work at my fannish WIPs but didn't have the creative energy for it lately, so this project is a good compromise between procrastinating, not writing and actually doing something to improve. ;op
