Write Every Day: Day 12

Yesterday was a pretty chill day for me - I got my chores done early so I had lots of time in the evening to just do whatever I wanted. I looked at my 200 words from Saturday, decided I hated them all BUT that they were going in a good direction - so I deleted them all and wrote just under 1000 words to replace them.

Day 12: 700 words. It's an emotionally difficult scene, and I was struggling at first; but then I found an interesting new way to use some historical material, which I think has helped.

On Day 12, I wrote 153 narrative words and then bracketed in another 206 words of outline notes for where the action is going more specifically. I feel MUCH better about where I'm going to start tomorrow. The climax has changed significantly from my original outline because the characters have grown more as people than my initial ideas had allowed for, which is, I think, a good problem to have.

Wohoo, that's terrific, go you! *\O/* That's also precisely the reason why it's worth to write alibi sentences or just get something down on 'paper' - you can always change, improve, replace what you've written, but not what you haven't written. *g*
I did find time after all for fic writing despite the (not very useful) webinar, ending up with 722 words for day 12 - and by a fun coincidence, I wrote exactly the same wordcount as the nonfic I'd written earlier.
