to do list: July edition

I already have a plan to talk to the kitchen dude tomorrow. Depending on how that conversation goes I may have to put "find another contractor" on here.

• Got the schedule for the family dinner thing, just need to find a restaurant that can do a wheelchair AND accommodate all the dietary restrictions. (I think I'm going to delegate that task)
• get tax return for Old Man so I can finish the filing
• need to figure out how to get a scan of his ID for the bank
• Get postage stamps so I can send in his insurance claims because apparently his insurance company is located in the 18th century
• sort dresser/wardrobe/boxes of clothes
• follow up with work about shares forms
• follow up with E & BC about planning a visit

All my files and records are scattered across five different computers, I should put organizing that stuff on my to-do list, but honestly it's a daunting task. Maybe I'll start with the external hard-drive, if I make space on that I'll have a place to back up everything else.

Oh no, what a nuisance about the contractor and the possible necessity to look for another. I've got so many sympathies for you about this, it sounds like the absolute nightmare. *hugs*

Good idea to delegate the restaurant finding, and ask his bank what they recommend for scanning his ID?
And I can't recommend organising your files and record - and backing them up on at least one other device - enough - I learned the hard way that whenever I'm lazy about this it bites me in the back. As a result I have one external and one internal hard-drive where a lot of my stuff is saved in various versions since I didn't have the energy to sort the stuff - but at least I saved it. But I'm still not finding something I really need all the time because I lost it before I became diligent in the saving. *sigh* *sends tons of mental energy to tacklet his*

It sounds like he's still planning on finishing, but I should talk to him about maybe scaling back what I was planning on getting him to do. I can put some of it on hold for now if he can just get the basement finished.

The files thing has been hanging over my head for entirely too long. It's a ridiculous project, but I really need to get it done.

I like how you organize your journal and write these lists and to's do's. Reminds me a little of Listography (which I use).

FIVE! I have the windows one which used to be my main computer but now I just use it for playing games. The main computer I use now runs Linux, plus I have my laptop. Then my roommate's computer has some of my stuff on it, plus the external hard-drive that we were using to back stuff up on.

I still have my partner's old computer too, that we hooked up to the TV and only use for streaming but I think we pulled all the files off that one already.

It's ridiculous, right? I accumulate stuff then I get to the point where I look around and go WHY DO I HAVE ALL THESE THINGS and go on a massive purging spree.
