I've been having a really hard time with focus today. I have a dozen email messages half written, a few words added to a website, a pile of open envelopes on my desk, a list of phone numbers undialed.

I can't concentrate to save my life.

I suspect this may have something to do with the fact that I'm meeting Jennifer (my daughter) for dinner tonight.

So, uh. Yeah.

I'm going to go for a run. I'm hoping that will level me out a bit.

I'll get back to business once I return.

Fundamentally, you are who you are. You don't look like a suburban soccer mom, but you can still be a mom. I think you should get out the hairspray and the hairdye and whatever else you use, and go wild!

If your daughter can't handle a mohawk, she probably can't handle knowing about the rest of your life anyway.

Furthermore, she might have a mohawk too. (I think someone pointed out that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.)
