Write Every Day: Day 7

People who read my posts have probably seen me complain that ex-housemate took care of things I asked them to get rid of by hiding them in the basement. I haven't been able to clear out the entire basement due to the work going on but I was able to pull some stacks of milkcrates out from behind the furnace and empty them out/relocate them.

Yesterday I bagged up all the old beer cans, threw in the left over ones from family dinner in January and trotted them all back to the beer store. Then I took the money and went across the street to the park where the farmer's market happens every Thursday and got myself some loaves of a lovely fresh sourdough. That will go nicely with the rest of the chili.

Then because I am weak for fresh bread I cut myself a couple of slices, poured myself (possibly too many) glasses of wine and wrote 200+ words on the fic.

Fresh bread is heaven!

Jan 7th - 2466 words, a 1k challenge fic, some edits on the ficlet I'm about to post, and 5 more ficathon fills. So much fun!

Also another pattern repeat (8 rows) on my Aran jacket. It's a very simple pattern, and it looks great. I'm using peacock blue Aran yarn.

i'm glad u were able to turn those cans into loaves of sourdough. i have a starter going now that i make pizza and pancakes with. i got it from a friend in northern california and they say the weather conditions of where the starter is cultivated influences the flavor. i bet toronto sourdough is yummy. idk why i assume rainier cloudier climates would make a tastier sourdough but i do. wine and sourdough tho sounds like a winning dinner.

Mmmmmm! The bread sounds *wonderful*, alone or paired with the chili. And now I'm craving its sour chewiness myself. I know what I'm picking up tomorrow. :-)

On Day 7, I added 239 words to "The Whole World Blind," the weird western short story I'm working on. I think I'm nearing the end and that it will come in at under 2000 words, which for me, with my habit of accidental novels, is quite a feat!

For the 7th: Candy Hearts, and despite today's AO3 issues I managed to upload my fic. (There will be editing, of course, but it's a fic and it exists, and now I don't have to worry about possible AO3 issues tomorrow. *g*) I also developed ~ambitions and will be trying to finish two treats for this ... wish me luck!

Day 7: 1799 words of "I Don't Like Your Girlfriend — Remix." I did all of chapter 48, then when I went to post it, discovered that when I'd remixed chapter 45, I'd forgotten to post it, so I had to fix that at both AO3 and AFF. But now it's all straightened out. Chapter 48 remixed really well. I didn't notice at the time that I originally wrote it, but in this chapter we got to see Lua being the strong one, when there had been a big character arc for Lua earlier in the fic dealing with her insecurity. Yay me for unconsciously doing the clever writing thing!

Little over 3K today, finished the wedding horror and it's off to the beta. Also finished another hazbin hotel short and that's posted.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if your friend is right. Humidity, temperature, altitude, would all impact how the yeast acts.

It's one of those things that happens sometimes: I never plan to do something "literary" like that, but sometimes when I go back and reread, it's just there. It's kind of weird.
