Write Every Day: Day 14

the_siobhanMy fucking contractor.
Storm door was supposed to be installed two weeks ago, blah blah blah. Scheduled the energy audit to finally happen after a seven month delay. Told him the appointment was yesterday and the door & framing had to be done before then. He had an extra week, so lots of time, right? An extra week after the date HE GAVE ME.
Guess what's not done yet?
I reminded him, mind you. "Yep, it will be done." Then I got a text yesterday saying "If the auditors think I'm going to drive in a snowstorm from Peterborough to install a door, they're crazy." No mate, I assure you, they do not think that.
This is SO MUCH like the ex-housemate. I once had to set my alarm so I could go downstairs once an hour to yell at them about a phone call to correct a bill that was in their name. This was after three months of reminding them to do it on a weekly, then daily basis. (And three months of being overcharged, I might add.)
There's a lot of fiddly stuff that will have to be done when he's finally out of that basement and I am just hiring somebody else to do it even though it was supposed to be part of his job. Because I just canNOT deal with having shit sitting around half-done for fucking months at a time.

My current "going easy with writing, just see what's coming up" leads to interesting results: I still am and have been re-reading old favourite stories from previous fandoms, and am and have been scribbling away on old snippets from that fandom as well as semi-abandoned original ones - seems my muse isn't fully done with them yet, if just for a bit of writing fun.
