I'm testing Tim's LJ client. We'll see how this works.

I HAVE A BICYCLE! Brand spankin' new, and sitting in my livingroom. (One of the cool things about living with a squat punk. He won't freak out if he comes home and finds things parked in the living room. Human or otherwise.)

Come to think of it, that could be useful if I ever get a motorcycle again.

Anyway. I haven't ridden since I was about 8 years old, so getting it home was -- interesting. Wow, does Toronto ever need to do some resurfacing on the streets around here.

As a result of going to the gym not once, but twice this week, I am back at my normal level of piss and bile. Crisis averted. For at least as long as I keep pushing myself, that is. I have a nasty tendancy to think, "Oh, it'll be OK" until I have no choice but to take care of myself.

Um. Come to think of it, I do that with everything.

Test completed. Now I have to go and help The Bezerker haul his motorcycle across the railroad tracks.

Hrm. Links don't work.

(Can't remember if he mentioned that or not...)

I keep thinking that if I had more guts I'd get myself one of those industrial tricycles. But I am still afeared of being on the streets of Toronto with cars, and hate losers that ride on the sidewalk. It's hard to believe I used to think nothing of hopping on a bike and driving 20 miles or so for an afternoon ride.

They drive insanely close to you. I have to admit, cars are my biggest fear. There are bike lanes about half of the journey to my work along College St.

I'm going to turn into one of those radical pro-cycle nutters, I can see it all now. :->

The store had a tricycle with a huge basket on the back suitable for carrying massive quantities of stuff. I have to admit, it has it's appeal. It's wider than my couch.

That'd be the one. I figure while it's by no means a lean mean cycling machine able to swerve in and out of traffic, it's sturdier and more noticeable than the two-wheel variety. Only problem is the wide rear axle prohibits squeezing in between parked cars and the buggers who want the whole lane. But the stuff-carrying basket is definitely a bonus. Of course, with the sparkly handlebar streamers I'd have to put on there, most people would just point and laugh, I suspect.

I'm looking into the link issue.

Also, you only need to press Enter once, since in my app a return is converted into a

instead of a
, thus the double-spacing is managed by the editor. What you see really is what you'll get.

Let me know if anything else comes up. I hope to have a new build tomorrow evening.

I miss the gym. Lifting weights was easily as therapeutic as eating stuff I don't need. But it was too far away, & too expensive. Damnitt, there is no gym for miles around where I live.

I just did that. Unfortunately the point at which I realized I was in big trouble was after I'd hit the "send" button on the "take this job and shove it" email.

Wow, does Toronto ever need to do some resurfacing on the streets around here.

Aren't bikes great? When I lived in Peterborough, I didn't even realize that the main north-south street was on a gentle incline till I purchased a bike.

As to riding in TO, I was always way too wussy. Walked miles every day instead.

Wait... it's dry enough to bicycle in Toronto?

Maybe I'd better rethink this whole "too humid there" attitude. Especially if it's also still warm enough to bicycle, there.

Well, it was up until this morning.

It's still not that cold, and the snow is mostly gone. But we did have a nice Indian Summer going on for a while there.

Okay, good... just so long as it was an anomoly! ;-) (So's I don't have to be too jealous, see.)
