Woke up today with pins and needles in both arms from wrist to elbow.

I'm pretty sure that's not good.

-----------------------------------

The wonderful [livejournal.com profile] the_axel fixed my computer last night while I was at work, so I can actually read things on the screen again. Unfortunately, I lost about a weeks worth of mail. If you sent me anything in the last week, please re-send as it's gone to the great recycling box in the sky. If you sent it longer ago than that, well, I'm just a spaz.

-----------------------------------

I woke up this morning coughing and hacking because I had just inhaled something.

I'm telling myself it was a piece of lint.

-----------------------------------

For some reason my bathtub is full of these.

Might have something to do with all the rain.

This is nothing to do with the way I woke up this morning, and I will brook no suggestions otherwise. I do not sleep in the bathtub, and besides, that was a piece of lint.

-----------------------------------

And the biggest and bestest news for last - I now live with one of these

Her name is Lola, she's two years old, and slightly over a foot long. (I think. I haven't been able to get her to unwrap fully yet.) I am utterly smitten.

I must now get a decent thermometre and a heat lamp, because she likes it a lot hotter than I do.

I know I sent you some LD50 related stuff last week, so I'll resend it. I also sent you something last night. I sympathize, as I lost several weeks worth of email once when my computer decided to play dead.

Euuwwww! Pillbugs. Ick!

Congrats on the new snake. I know you've missed having one. :)

I'm irrationally afraid of snakes, but I might be persuaded to make her acquaintance the next time I'm over.

When I had my last snake (a corn snake) I lived in a house with a cat. They never really registered each other - I think the snake didn't look enough like anything she was familiar with to register as another animal.

She wasn't much of a hunter though, so that might have had something to do with it.

Great icon by the way!!!

Thanks - there's a site generator out there somewhere - but true to form I've completely forgotten where I got it.

why do people keep posting links to pictures of insects without telling me what they are? why do i keep clicking on them, thinking, "well, maybe siobhan's bathtub is full of kittens, and i wouldn't mind seeing a picture of kittens"?

i can't wait to meet lola.

Oooh! I love snakes. I'd never own one because I don't know how to properly care for one, but I do love them.

If you want a starter snake, I highly recommend a corn. They are temperate (they like to live at approximately the same temperature we do) so they are one of the easiest to care for. And they are naturally very sweet-natured.

And because they've been bred in captivity for a long time, they have some really cool colour strains. My first snake was a blood corn (http://www.tainoreptiles.com/files/mcrea.jpg).

Kittens would be kind of an interesting thing to find in one's bathtub. What with the continual thinning of the reality layer that's been going on over the past few years I wouldn't be all that surprised to wake up one day to find kittens in the bathtub and rainbow-coloured powertools in the beer fridge.

Come to think of it, I did find kittens in the basement once at the manor. So there you go.

As insects go, pillbugs don't bother me for some reason. Possibly because they are so slow-moving and harmless. The Volvos of the insect world.

Oooh, pretty snake. I love snakes! I'm planning on getting a corn snake, actually, when I have more time/room/money. I couldn't get one right now - Imri's too much of a little psycho kitten for me to trust around an improperly secured snake.

My mom even offered to help me buy one for Christmas/Birthday/whatever. She's got one named Aristotle. Sometimes, my family Doesn't Suck.

Snakes are cute!

But I still yelp when a garter spooks me by slithering in the grass. I'd yelp if similarly surprised by a kitten, too. *shrug* I'm just easily spooked. And consequently glad to leave my last job, where there were lots of random loud noises from lots of potentially-deadly equipment.

Scorpions want to scuttle around and sting my toes. And they do not have deathrays.

So there.

Slander! Slander! They do _not_ want to sting your toes! They merely wish to be fed mealworms.

And they do so have deathrays.

You just gave me a lovely idea... I've wanted a snake for YEARS since I used to hang out wiht a guy who had a baby boa. What a lover that thing was, hugging us all the time! :) Plus, I already have the first few meals hanging out in my wall. I came home to find two grey mice eating the bag of coconut on the bottom shelf. *sigh* I've also been finding pillbugs crawling across my living room, but only about six so far. I'm also assuming the rain is bringing them inside but not necessarily down my throat.

Any chance the snake will eat the bugs?

I did that a couple of weeks ago. Mine was a feather. Yes it was. It was too. REALLY IT WAS!
