Today I threw a unit of blood across the table in frustration. Fortunately, it didn't burst.

I have GOT to get out of this place.

If you fancy vacating the country for a bit, you're welcome to come for a cider filled trip to Bristol whenever you want. Plus we have er, a very nice bridge and a lot of cheese.

And bridges! Well, a bridge. I'm sure it's very nice though.

The Clifton Suspension Bridge is indeed nice, and the second most popular suicide spot in the UK after Beachy Head. It nearly sustained major structural damage recently, but the city shut it down on the weekend that it was projected to sustain damage through over-use.

I don't know what amazes me more - that UK suicides are so vigorous as to cause structural damage, that they can predict how many suicides they're likely to get, or that they plan for a certain number and engineer for it.

Damn you evil temptor!

Unfortunately I'll have to get a job that pays me in more than pennies and rhinovirus before I can afford to partake of your seductive bridges and your wanton cheese.

I think that is definitely a sign that you need to go someplace else. Just went trhough that myself and leaving my crap job was the best thing I did all year, even if I didn't end up where I thought I would be. It at least got the ball rolling.

Yeah, I gotta get out of here.

The hard part is finding time between all my other jobs to take on the additional full-time job of finding another job.

Ow.

Then again, people tell me I sleep too often.

I'm fascinated by the fact that you work at a place in which a unit of blood is available to throw across a table...

I was thinking the exact same thing. The only thing I have to compare would be a 70's era AKG 414 EB.

Having spent 7+ years working in hospitals, I think it's normal.

I work at the Blood Bank (http://www.bloodservices.ca/). It wouldn't be so bad except that

a) my position is Supreme Mindless Low Level Grunt and

b) I work shift that rotate every couple of days so I'm suffering from advanced systemic breakdown.
