This link is for [livejournal.com profile] redcountess, [livejournal.com profile] redbird, [livejournal.com profile] kalmn (who will have to change her user ID to "red something" now) and everybody else on my f-list who has ever had to deal with an invisible disability.

My absolute favourite is "My disabling chronic illness is more real than your imaginary medical expertise."

I'm going to remember those, but probably not buy the t-shirts, because I don't want to throw smartass comebacks at random strangers who aren't being rude, or even thinking nasty things, they're either going about their business or taking one look at my face on a bad day and offering me their seat on the train or bus.

You know something? When you've lost a dozen pounds in ten days but are paralyzed on one side of your face, you don't get the "you look good, have you lost weight?!" reactions. (That was my prednisone makeover. Very weird.)

Thanks for the linkl! My friend has MS, and on her "good days" she *looks* fine. She still feels like shit, but she looks beautiful, so people give her grief for parking in disabled spots, walking slowly, using food stamps, etc.
I'm gonna get her the "invisible diseases..." stuff, as well the one you like!

...has got to be the one that ends, "How do you think I feel answering you?" I hate fake goodness in places like work.

Heh, I was looking at that the other day and linked to it myself :) I love the "Fibromyalgia is a pain in the ...well, everywhere" one :)

That's my fave, too.

They should have a bumper sticker that says something like "You want the parking space? *You* feel this crappy!"
