the wayback machine visits the basement
Oct. 28th, 2007 07:10 pmTurns out that some of them are from when we first bought the house.

Looking down the stairs from the main floor. The ugly wallpaper is still there.

Looking out the front door into the street. There are actually two doors in front of you because you are looking through the cold room.

Looking into the basement from the cold room and towards the back of the house.

The cold room was full of scrap wood and plumbing pipes.

That was our furnace. We estimated that it dated from 1970.

Piping from our furnace

This room became our storage room. We spend most of a day scrubbing the black slime from the wall. Note that when we bought the house this was somebody's bedroom.

In this room the slime was yellow and had the unmistakable smell of nicotine.

The basement bathroom

The shower.

Taking a break from the cleaning of the various slimes.
