Today on the subway I saw a woman wearing leg warmers.

Hold me.

Was she also wearing heels and a jean skirt? I've seen this A LOT!

*checks watch*

Yeah, they're about due back around again.

(Disclosure: I *like* legwarmers. Because they keep my legs, you know, warm. I've knitted myself a pair to wear under long skirts...)

Was she very young?

The Macleans university report last week had two pages of photographs of what students are wearing, with comments on the 80s-ness of a lot of it.

I see a lot of them in preschool sizes, but somehow that is less frightening.

And the manifestation of DJ Sonny Crockett didn't already send your brain scurrying for warm corners with a blankie?

I saw them in the store the other day. :-(((((((

I haven't seen cutoff layered sweatshirts yet, but that's probably only because I'm not watching teen TV. I have seen asymmetrical sunglasses, "funky" print socks, and ...

...

Shirts with decorative zippers.

I find it amusing that your entry appeared on my friends page just after this one:

All that's old is new again!

(Although I will admit to rather liking spats, gaiters, and legwarmers, if worn with some degree of personal flair. Also, for the purposes of keeping one's legs actually warm!)

I have a pair of leg warmers. I love them (but not with heels).

Yup - I've been seeing more and more of them lately, usually with short skirts and on cute little asian women. They're baaaack.

Waaaiiittt... I thought the legwarmer resurgence had been and gone again a couple of years ago. I was told the next big thing was to be the drop crotch pant.

Presumably you made your excuses and left before the whole carriage spontaneously burst into a song and dance routine?

We've been selling them since 2003. They didn't sell very well until 2005. No, I'm not buying them. There is photographic evidence that I wore them*, so not doing it again.

I blame American Apparel myself.

*My hair was feathered, too. It was 1981, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. :D
