Holy crap am I ever tired. And I'm pretty sure there is going to be a Going Out in my immediate future. For Big Chaos has come to Little Toronto. Or something.

Haven't been updating much. I've been working, studying and going to the chiropractor a billion times a week. I finally blew my back out at work. I've been suspecting it was coming for a while, I've been getting achey and sore after every shift for the past few months and I tried to head it off by doing strengthening exercises - but no such luck. Bent over wrong, lifted something heavy and >pop<.

Bugger.

So now I can't bend or move normally. I actually fell off a chair yesterday, leaning too far for the centre of gravity to support me. I couldn't use my back muscles to catch my fall, so I ended up sitting on the floor with the back of the chair perched on my head. How embarrassing.

And since I go to the chiro practically every day now, that sucks up the time I would use for the gym, even if I could. Double bugger - there goes my one reliable mood stabilizer. Whoever said "You can't run away from your problems" wasn't taking the idea nearly literally enough. Give me a couple of kilometres with The Misfits blaring through the earphones and I can add at least a 3d20 to my roll for cope.

This too shall pass. In the meantime, I expect that sufficiently distracting amounts fun will be had tonight. I can only hope that the evening's adventures include a place to sit down.

Where and when will tonight's fun take place? I haven't been out in forever.

Sorry to hear about your back. Persistent back pain bites bag.

Currently in negotiations. I'm lobbying for Caddy's.

I fully support your lobbying efforts. If it's at Caddy's, I might actually come out.

Seeble! Although I run without music - because I'm a sucker for whip-birds and parrots and such, and there are a surprising (to me anyway) number of whip-birds doing their thing around where I live early in the morning.

I'd love to run outside, but I'm not willing to do it on cement or in clouds of car exhaust. Trouble with living in the city.

So I run laps at the local gym and that requires headphones, because really, lap #19 looks pretty much identical to lap#6.

I like the sound of your version much better.

Culturally, I live in white-bread suburbia in a city that's going through an awkward adolence after a childhood of being a religiously conservative country town. There are trade-offs for everything. It's a trade-off I'm willing to make, because I camouflage pretty well in suburbia, and I need green plants and wild animals on a regular basis. But I can certainly understand other people not willing to make it.

However, if you should ever somehow find yourself in the vicinity of Brisbane, I will kidnap you and make you stay at my place at least one night, so you can come running with me to the sound of the dawn chorus along the river.

We're filing that one under 'promising start' and planning future Wrongness...

The fact I can still type (albeit slowly) is a disappointment to the Embassy.

'Bent over wrong, lifted something heavy and >pop<.'

That made me wince just reading it. Is the chiro helping? I've never been to one and only know vaguely what they do. But I know of people who swear by them for this kind of ouch.

And P-FURS on March 31/April 1!!!!!!!! I'd rather die that not be in attendance (I'm getting laid off on the 31).

I'm all for Going Out in the face of physical, mental or environmental adversity. I'd had a BAD headache for something crazy like 2 months. I didn't feel like doing anything... Until I decided "piss on it" last weekend and got hammered on cheap beer.

The headache is *gone*.

I tried to head it off by doing strengthening exercises - but no such luck.

You know the best strenthening exercises to help your back are the ones for your abs, right?
