Tomorrow is apparently Human Rights Day. Amnesty International is hosting a letter writing campaign for the day. I'm not sure how many I'll get done, but I signed up for it anyway.

I also just sent an email to my Evil Overlords from the Climate Friendly Banking website. For some reason I'm finding it very funny. "Dear Boss. Thanks for the bonus. Please invest in sustainable energy. KThxBy."

As if that isn't bad enough, I even did yoga today. My back hates me considerably less as a result.

I'll be wearing patchouli next.

No idea. I'm just using a video for now.

Sooner or later, all old punks have a choice:

1) Become an alcoholic, and eventually have no stomach left due to years of cider-drinking.

2) Grow up and get a haircut and become a banker or something.

3) Become a hippy and start writing letters.

4) All of the above.

I'm beginning to suspect that most of us are, and that it's not so much a choice as an inevitability...

At least we'll all be old, cranky and disreputable together. ;)

I still remember this sweet old couple at the Stiff Little Fingers show a coupla years back. The husband was balding and grey and wearing a Sex Pistols shirt and a huge grin. His wife was a tiny frail thing in a walker. In no time, a barricade of Big Stompy Punks had surrounded her so she could watch the show in safety. It was all very sweet.

That's a heartwarming story. :)

When I was in my dodgy EBM band days, about 8 years back, we supported Gary Numan at the big University venue in Manchester. The Buzzcocks were playing in the smaller venue next door, and the crowd for that was a sight to be seen -- average age must have been 40+, even then. Lots of guys with flat-tops or shaved heads, and women with punky/skinhead cuts.

Bald? Also, I could knit you a poncho from organic hemp yarn. ;)

I'm having the "This crap on my head is driving me nuts can I shave it all off now plz" attacks really really bad right now.

Fortunately it's also a billion degrees below zero outside (and about half a billion inside), so that's effectively talking me out of it.

I have hemp sneakers. I wish I was kidding.

Clearly the poncho should be knit from soy. That way you'll have all of your hippy fibers covered.

are you thinking of going shorter or simply just making due with it until you can shave it?

I don't really have a coherent plan. I just go through periodic episodes of getthisstuffoffme. I'm sure I'll get over it.

Speaking of which, I figured I would arrange my next appointment for some time in January when you aren't so crazy busy.

I've started doing yoga again and my back hates me a lot less too. I go to a little place across the street from Caddy's - they have a great Restorative class on Sundays at 4:30.

Right now I'm just using a video in my living room. My ambition is to get down to Yoga Queen maybe in the spring.

They have a couple of instructors who say they have experience working with clients who have back injuries.

Yoga Queen - that's the place I go to. Heather teaches the Restorative class and she's very good. I think she's had some injuries herself, so she knows how to work around them. Want me to let you know next time I'm going?

In the spring, you mean? Sure. I suspect I'll still be working afternoon shift by then though.

Bring on the Yoga, I say. It is rebellious by nature because nobody respects the practice of it! Therefore you keep the punk attitude and have a nicely stretched back into the bargain.
