I have been iron-ed

the_siobhanLast night I left a very pleasant party at an entirely respectable and responsible hour solely so I could be something close to functional at work today.
And then could not fall asleep for the life of me.
I finally dozed off about half an hour before Axel came home. For some reason he was being considerate when he got in and was stepping very quietly on the floor above my sleeping head. The complete opposite of his normal wildebeest-like idiom.
So of course I didn't recognize his footsteps, woke bolt awake, and legged it up the stairs to find out who the hell was in my house.
...And then could not fall asleep again for the life of me.
Am now operating on less than two hours of sleep. I have 45 minutes of work left and in spite of hallucinating fiercely I think I've actually managed to avoid setting anything important on fire, knocking it over or sinking it into the swamp.
However I can't promise not to doze off mid-conversation later tonight. All that I ask is that nobody doing anything weird to me while I'm snoring into my soup, like dress me in prints or something.
