The last time I ate meat was September 4[1]. That was my last full-on gallbladder attack.

Since then I've had a number of twinges in the nerves plexis in my back[2] but it never progressed past that point until today. Right now the back pain is stronger and it's starting to move so I think I might be in for a full-on attack tonight. Still, that's been three weeks since the last one, and right before I finally went cold turkey on the animal products I was up to two-three a week. (I had two just at Convergence.)

So it might be working, it might be just delaying the inevitable, or it might just be coincidence. It's still too early to tell.

The new diet has definitely stabilized my digestive system though - and I'm not gaining and losing 10-15 lbs over a 48 hour period any more.

[1] And it was nasty and greasy. I think I had to have that experience of sitting there thinking "I'm going through all this pain so I could eat that?" before I could finally get off my butt and make the change for good. I kinda wish my last meat experience was a really high-end steak dinner but if I had done that I would be always fantasizing about the Good Thing I gave up, so it's probably just as well my last meat-based meal was some really shite chicken wings.

[2] Typically an attack starts on each side of my back in a band under the shoulder blades, and then wraps around under my ribs to the front. If it doesn't get past my back it's annoying but not usually painful enough to bother with taking drugs for it.
