I am eating a bagel for breakfast. Anybody who has any occasion to watch me eat many breakfasts knows that I almost always eat bagels. And sometimes I will cover one with tomatoes and jalapenos and pizza sauce and eat it for lunch.

I love bagels. I will now commence to make happy tummy noises at the screen.

mmm mmmm hmm mmmmMMmmmm

First night on the new job yesterday -- and I think it went pretty well. They seemed to like me and they are very freak friendly. I was introduced to one of the shift supervisor who was wearing all black with doc martins and a "death: the high cost of living" t-shirt. Heh. And of course one of the other ones was our stage manager at C8.

Still, it's a grunt job. I am getting really tired of grunt jobs. The fact that this will get me to where I want to be a lot faster makes it bearable, but it's still wearing.

mmm mmmm hmm mmmmMMmmmm

In another minute the bagel will be gone and then I'll get to making another stab at my "to-do" list. I had come up with a plan to leave the daily stuff like dishes and garbage for somebody else to do so that I could focus on the big jobs -- like sorting all the crap in the office or dealing with the bomb-went-off zone in the kitchen. Unfortunately I had overlooked one small but important detail -- it's over 35 degrees in here. The dishes and garbage make the place pretty much unliveable after a couple of days.

sigh Maybe I should get a third job. Then I wouldn't be home enough to notice it.

OK, bagel done. First gym, (yay for working out in air-conditioning) then housework, then doctors appointment, (wish me luck) then more housework, then writer's group, then job.

And they're off...

Hum, sigh, poor me, I have to choose between sitting by the pool all day or visiting the local art galleries... oh, woe is me...whatever shall I do?! ;)

(Vacation is awesome, you should try it!)

And I say unto thee; "PPPPFFFTTTTHHHHTTTT!!!"

(Vacation is awesome, you should try it!)

Problem is, both jobs are "casual". I get paid if I show up. I can ask for time off any time I want if I can afford to not work for that time period.

Therein lying the catch.

I can totally relate to that scenario, and I would just like to go on record as saying that working two or more part-time jobs sucks ASS. It's way easier to work a regular 35-40 hour week (if you can deal with the mind-numbing boredom, that is). I am new to this whole "paid vacation" scene myself, and therefore I must lord it over everyone who crosses my path like some kind of nouveau riche maniac. *heh*

more jobs....

yes, that must be the solution. work more. work harder.

actually given the temperature here at work - i am tempted to sleep here. Maybe i should just bring my dishes and garbage instead.

Whoa..waitaminit...

New job? What new job? Man, I really am out of the loop these days.

So, you're working with Thor I take it? Doing market research?

Yup. I needed something that I could fit around the insane all-over-the-map scheduling at the blood bank, and the phone research job is perfect -- I can book shifts whenever I'm available.

Of course if you count the fact that I once again started plugging away at the Book That Shall Not Be Named, I guess I'm actually working at three jobs... ;->
