Drunken late-night dish washing.

I guess this is what the street punks get up to after hours once they've hit 40...

I'm impressed at the drunkening there.

But I have another theory.
Did you feed your Mogwaii after midnight? Being helpful chaps they could have started doing the dishes, and then unfortunately changed into Gremlins.
That would explain the smashed glasses.

Fortunately, they probably gave up doing the dishes, did not get wet and multiply, and hence there is no evidence.
