Got woken up last night by something bouncing off my head. It felt exactly like the way June bugs get caught in your hair. Anyway we caught it, threw it in a jar, and I went back to sleep.

I had a good look at it today, and I'm pretty sure it's one of these assholes.

I've been hardening off the tomatoes so we probably carried it inside on a plant.

Annoying way to wake up, I gotta say.

Gah. Those things destroyed almost all of my tomatoes last year. I didn't know what they were or what they were doing until it was too late--they looked like they were just sitting there doing nothing. You'd think I woulda clued in that they were all sitting *on the tomatoes* apparently doing nothing.

I will try ye olde soap and water trick, and see if it discourages them.

The plants aren't even in the damn ground yet.

those stink bugs are horrible invasive and yes they'll go right on your head.

Feh! My indoor seedlings got fungus gnats in April, so we had to throw everything out and start over. So far so good, but I also ordered some veggie starts from the garden centre to pick up next Tuesday. First time that's happened. Good luck with the stinkers. I'll look out for them, too.

Huh. Those guys look familiar, I've seen an explosion of them lately around some seeds that are refusing to sprout. That might be why.

You are a way, way, way more cool cucumber than I am. I would have smashed a lot of things and not slept the rest of the night, so I'm kind of in awe of you right about now.

I'm honestly not much fussed by creepy crawlys. I don't like them on in my hair obviously, but for the most part they don't really freak me out.

The only major exception to that rule is earwigs. For some reason earwigs give me the screaming ews.

I've had some bugs (not sure what, but the green moths that turn into cabbage moths is my guess, based on... eh) gnawing on my chilli plants. And I have Trinidad Scorps. Oddly, the hotter the Scoville, the more they nom.

My one tomato plan survived.

(On a different note, there are some really curious choices made in the way that story is written).

You know, until this exact moment, I thought cilantro and coriander were different plants. Huh.

Anyway, the seeds and the leaves smell and taste different, so I guess that's why the different names.

Here it's all coriander: stem, stalk and seeds.

But we also call peppers "capsicum".

I'd never start a quote with "So", it's the kind of thing that gets edited out like ums and ahs.

The actual structure of the story is... sub-optimal. Even given differing writing styles and choices, the second and final par are so obviously linked,it's a little jarring to read.
