pour some stout over your cider
Dec. 6th, 2020 03:13 pmOne of my goals in doing WED last month was just to get back into the habit of posting updates. I don't necessarily have the time or energy to do daily, but more often than once a month would be nice. Will see if it takes.
**
December is kind of put-my-head-down-and-just-get-though-it month, and has been for mot of my adult life.
A number of my friends have reporting have good success with using CBD oil for their anxiety, so I picked some up and I've been trying it out. I don't know that it's doing anything for the head weasels, but I'm certainly sleeping well. So I guess it's doing something.
**
I went out back and took some pictures of the construction that's going on.
This is our yard facing south. The cinderblocks are from the firepit - we're planning on tearing it apart and the spring and rebuilding it since some of the blocks have cracked over the years.

A closer look at our busted fence. The wood is from the tree that fell over a couple of years ago and took out our telephone line. That tree at the back is the same kind, so we're looking into getting it taken out before that one also folds over. (It's a box elm, and that's just what they do - they have shallow root so they tip over during storms and then just continue to grow lying along the ground.)

Looking east along the tracks

Looking west along the tracks. Those posts are for the fence that will be between the railpath and the trains, so that's why it's so tall. The fence line between the railpath and the private properties will basically run along where I'm standing.

And as a final note, our ridiculous cat who yells at us unless we take her outside with us when we go.

Date: 2020-12-08 08:32 am (UTC)(It's exotic for me to see snow in such a domestic setting. My hometown, where I live, is a very temperate climate (ranges from about 5C to 28C). It's snowed here twice in living memory, and the most recent time when it actually settled (August 2011) was so remarkable that there's a facebook page for That Time It Snowed In Wellington. *g*)
