Was gonna try to write a post, but as soon as a sat down I got hit by a tidal wave of tired. So instead I'm going to shower and go to bed.

I will say this though, I now own my first ever dishwasher, and it is awesome.

Oh I'm so excited for you about this.... The dishwasher installed in our place when we bought it 3 years ago was not at all impressive, but turns out to be a rather good Turkish (?) built brand that honestly does an amazing job with very little hassle. I washed a LOT of things by hand tonight because I was in the middle of cooking several things, and it made more sense to quickly hand-wash things that had held e.g. raw/cooked veg or shredded cheese b/c I was going to just use them again immediately, but piling the dinner dishes and the containers from F's lunch bag and the cat bowls and all the flatware into the dishwasher, knowing I can run it in the morning after making a few more dirty dishes for breakfast and coffee, is a godsend.

If nothing else I'll save a fortune on broken glassware.

Not if you use diswasher balls (or something), which are apparently $35-75 a bag.
Apparently they are a rip off.

And... I guess we'll see how much glassware you break while *not* doing the dishes. :)

I don't see the point is per-pressed soap.

Dish-washing is 99% of my breakage. It didn't help that I spent the last two years doing it in the bathroom sink, which is tiny and has a much lower faucet. I was constantly clipping the tip of the faucet and taking chips out of things.

Lame. And I did see them in the shops. $75 a back. That's 'aving a laff.

I dearly miss having a dishwasher. Enjoy not having to take time and energy out of your day just because human bodies require food that requires creating dirty dishes that need washing afterwards!

Also a place to put dirty dishes that isn't just having them piled all over the sink and counter-top. Luxury!

Not yet - it's still coated in drywall dust. I'm taking the end of the month off to clean and unpack and I'll take pictures then.

January was an awful month. Things are starting to settle out now but I still feel like I'm juggling flaming chainsaws.
